Events for 2009
Competitions,
Competitions, Competitions!
End of year display
for parents and friends.
2.30pm. at Shirehampton Public Hall. Tickets £1 pp and available to
purchase in class or coffee shop on a first come first served basis.
All pupils who attend
our Saturday's work shop, plus older pupils who attend in the week,
including Adults classes and all children who participated in this years
competitions are performing their special routines for parents to enjoy.
This is also when we have our yearly presentation of medals and, trophy
of the Year to one lucky pupil!
Photo's are not
allowed, including mobile phones or video recording, due to child safety
regulations set by the government.
pupils will need a fairy
dress/ short gathered skirt for pre school class,
pupils in ballet one will
also need a short gathered skirt,
pupils in ballet two will
also need a short gathered skirt and a character full circular 3/4
length skirt and character shoes,
pupils in ballet three and
senior ballet four and five etc also need the character skirt,shoes and
a leotard with thin straps, the short wrap skirt is optional.
All above can be any
colour and make / style.
Boys can wear shorts /
jogging bottoms with a T. shirt.
All dance classes children
must wear appropriate foot wear and hair off face, long in a bun, short
tidy( girls wear a hair band.) Due to health and safety.
Senior ballet levels 4 and
5 and Senior tap level 3 are held during the week at Shirehampton
Baptist church hall. Please phone for further details

Notices

Congratulation to all the children
that took part in the individual dances, you have all
done yourselves
proud, this year you have won 11 medals and several 4th and 5th
places.
Our groups also
did very well. All the other dance/stage schools entered at least
3/4 groups in each section, where we only entered one senior group,
one junior group and one adult group. All of the groups gained 4th
places.
A big thank you to all those
people who filled places at the last minute due to a bug going
around and enabled us to enter the competition and come out with
such good results.
A big congratulations to
one lady
who went into early labour and gave birth to a bonny boy the night
before! Can't image why she didn't turn up to dance!!

Our next show
Our next show title will be revealed at the end of year display, and
auditions will be held on Saturday 5th September 10am-1.30pm for
pupils aged 4 yrs up, including Adults.
Just turn up on the day, depending on what part you are auditioning
for, you will either have to recite a short poem/story, dance no
longer than a 2 minutes, sing no longer than 2 mins. You must
provide your own backing music either on tape or cd set in place,
marked clearly with which track to play..
The lucky chosen pupils will be notified the following week, on the
notice board. Adults will be informed over the phone.

We
raised £1146 for CLIC.
Congratulations and thanks to everyone who took part, on stage,
front of house, back stage, sponsors, who donated the rattle,
humpty's head dress and printing/advertising!

our coffee shop lady opens up each Saturday for you all to enjoy drinks,
sweets etc.

Our Dance Shop -
new and 2nd hand dance wear, e.g.
leotards, fairy dresses, skirts, jazz pop, tap and ballet dance wear,
plus, new and 2nd hand dance shoes for all classes for sale each week
for our pupils to look and buy.
**Don't forget to sell
your things on once you've out grown them! Write your name on the
item(s) and hand them into our very own dance shop to sell on for
you**

P.S.
We love to do small displays for charity events, residential, church
functions, homes, school fetes, special needs ect... .
No fee charged, all we ask is that the children receive a drink of
squash and a cuppa for the adults.
